Krishna houses pulling down suspended

Thirteen houses of Krishna community members pulling down planned for May in Karasay region of Almaty has been suspended, the Society of consciousness of Krishna informed the agency.

In the morning, on May 4, the court executives of Karasay region informed the leaders of the community about pulling down of the houses. The OSCE observers, the USA Embassy and mass media representatives arrived at the spot.

According to Krishna society members, the court executives assured them that demolishing of their houses would take place, "as Karasay akimat demands the prompt execution of the court's decision." The court executives stated that the negotiations being conducted by the Krishna society with the government of Kazakhstan are not the basis for cancellation of the court's decision.

The community leaders informed on the situation to the State Office of Public Prosecutor, administration of the President and the Committee for religious affairs.
