US Embassy expressed concern regarding Krishna houses demolition

Astana. December 7. Kazakhstan Today - The USA Embassy in Kazakhstan expressed concern regarding demolishing of Krishna houses in Karasay region of Almaty oblast, the agency reports.

"The Embassy is seriously concerned by legal substantiation of the actions directed against the commune of Society of Consciousness of Krishna, US Embassy press service statement says. The American Embassy is concerned that authorities of Karasay region continue their aggressive campaign against the commune.

The USA Embassy called Karasay region authorities to refrain from further displays of aggression against members of international Society of Consciousness of Krishna and work in the direction of fair, lawful and peaceful solution of the legal conflict.

As it was informed earlier, Society of Consciousness of Krishna received the site in Karasay region of Almaty oblast in 1999. In 2005 the regional authorities brought the suit against Krishna community accusing them in the change of the specified purpose of the obtained lot. On November 21, 2006 judicial executors demolished 14 houses of the members of the religious community.
