Now the movements of sewage at the Hare Krishna farm in the Karasai district of Almaty province, Kazakhstan, are personally supervised by the chief expert of the Provincial Land Department, Anatoli Portnyagin.
Hindus bracing for next round of attacks
Almaty – Impervious to international outcry, government officials in
the Central Asian country of Kazakhstan have intensified their attacks
against members of the Hare Krishna religion, a Vaishnava Hindu
tradition. A local court ordered more homes belonging to the Krishna
devotees to be demolished, the Associated Press reported, threatening
to leave more families homeless in freezing temperatures at any moment.

The fact that the 13 partly demolished houses were all of Krishna fellows led some observers to talk about harassment against religious minorities. According to independent observers, the court case is carried out in violation of the procedural code. The Commission will continue to watch the situation and raise the issue in its regular contacts with Kazakhstan at the apropriate occasion.

Hindus were sentenced in their absence
On 30th of January Chairman of Society for Krishna Consciousness came to the Karasai District Court. He submitted and registered an application with the request to postpone the case. The judge Zhailybayev told SKC Chairman to go and said that he will be informed by the court about the date of the hearing. Then court hearing started without representatives of SKC. Society for Krishna consciousness lost the case.
3 more Hindu houses to be demolished
The notifications for demolition of 3 summer cottages of Hindus, Lelchuk and Ustmanova, were delivered to one of the owners. The notifications were dated by 29th of January, 2007. On 2nd of February the 5 days given by court executive for willful demolition would be expired.
Hindus are questioned by Financial Police
The Hare Krishna commune member was invited to Kaskelen financial police office of investigator Bahyt Babayev. Babayev explained that she is invited because her son-in-law Hibatullin is under investigation for the criminal case on forgery of documents, on the basis of Criminal Code, article 325 part 1. She was asked few questions about her son-in-law location, position, occupation etc.
Officials who were at law with Hindus now will get their destroyed homes and lots
The chief specialist of Almaty Province Land Committee Anatoli Portnyagin, the local police officer and the ex chairman of the cottage cooperative Irina Zaharchuk were at the site of the destruction of the homes of Hare Krishna community. They were discussing how to distribute the land plots that Hindu's destroyed homes are still standing on.
Financial police wants evidence from Krishna follower
A worker of financial police of Karasai district appeared at the apartment of Hibatullin (the person, who was part of original transaction of 116 acre of land in 1999). He said that a year ago Hibatullin’s mother-in-law spoke to him and he brought her the report she gave to sign. The beginning part of the report was completely new. There Hibatullin’s mother-in-aw was presented as a victim and some foreign preacher was mentioned there.
