New claim of Karasai Hakimat: dark turn of events in the Hindu issue
January 18th, 2007 a notice of appointment for the next day hearing in the Karasai district court of Almaty province was delivered to the head of the Almaty Society for Krishna Consciousness. In the claim dated January 16, 2007 the Karasai district Hakimat insists to declare null and void the latest sale-purchase deal on 47,7 hectares of land between M. Zhaksybekov and the religious organization Society for Krishna Consciousness. This sale-purchase deal legitimated by the ruling of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan dated June 30, 2005. According to the lawyer’s opinion, the claim issued is the preparation of the dangerous base to reverse the rulings of the Supreme Court:
"By this new claim the Karasai Hakimat is making a ground ready to cancel the Supreme Court decision, which has granted the right on a land use to the Society for Krishna Consciousness. After Karasai Hakimat win this case, the prosecutor can make a prosecutors protest to the Supreme Court requesting to cancel the decision of the Supreme Court because there will be decision of a district court, which will consider sales and purchase agreement between Zhaksybekov and Consortium (Society for Krishna Consciousness) null and void."
January 19th, 2007 the hearing on the Karasai Hakimat claim was postponed because of the prosecutor not present and not all the defendants informed.
The date of the next court hearing set to January 30th, 2007 10:00am.
The claim issued and the latest privatization refusal of Krishna follower cottages by the Karasai Hakimat and the information on monitoring of the apartments of the Krishna followers being started at the area along with revisions of the religion organization and criminal cases started are the evidences of dark turn of events in the Hindu issue.
Karasai administration is escalating the harassment of Hindus. In such a way after bulldozing houses of 13 families the Society for Krishna Consciousness will loose it’s 47,7 hectares property and the legal address. The only Hindu commune in the area is in danger to seize to exist at the nearest time.
